Agreement to replace bridge, sign-on bonuses for certain county positions on commission agenda Wednesday

The Reno County Commission will consider and act on several agenda items during its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, March 26.

The commissioners will begin with proclamations recognizing National Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Week of The Young Child.

The appointment of a clerk to the Valley Township Board will be followed by action on a project agreement to replace the Castleton Road Bridge.

The commission will also take action to terminate the solar energy moratorium in the county’s zoned areas but continue it in the unzoned areas.

The Kansas Natural Resource Coalition will present on federal laws and their impacts on private lands, and the commissioners will discuss an agreement for the Brush Up Reno program with Interfaith Housing.

The final agenda item concerns a new policy that adds a sign-on bonus for “highly specialized and licensed positions that are hard to fill due to a reduced candidate pool.”

The Reno County Commission meets the second, fourth and fifth Wednesdays of each month at 9 a.m. in the Veterans Room inside the Reno County Courthouse, 206 W 1st Ave.
