Rose Ann Schippers, age 64, of McCracken, Kansas, formerly of Colwich, Kansas, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, in McCracken. She was born March 29, 1962, in Wichita, Kansas, to Robert “Bob” and Rita (Winter) Schneider. On Feb. 25, 1984, she married Jerome W. Schippers, Jr., in St. Mark’s, Kansas. He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2024.
Rose Ann was a long-time cosmetologist of 47 years and owned her own salon, Country Hair Salon, in Colwich, Kansas. As a hairdresser, she created and cherished many friendships along the way. She was an extremely proud wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, with all of her family being the center of her world. Rose Ann was also a farm wife when she and her husband, Junior, farmed, where they built their life and home from the ground up.
Her faith was also an important part of her life. Rose Ann was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich and the Altar Society.
She is survived by her son, Jerome W. Schippers III and his children, Vyolet and Dean; her daughters, Samantha Resendiz and husband Fernando and their son, Jacob, Kaylyn Petz and husband Chansler and their children, Brooklyn, Kinsley, Rylee and Lyndy, Theresa Greenway and husband William J. and their children, Kade and Addison; her brothers, Gene Schneider and wife Cathy, Frank Schneider and wife Regina, Carl Schneider and wife Carolyn, Robert Schneider and wife Valessa and Danny Schneider and wife Melissa; her sisters, Jody Wells and husband Mark and Barbara Reichenberger and husband Kevin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Linda Schneider.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 311 S. 5th Street, Colwich, KS, 67030, with Fr. Patrick York officiating.
Memorial visitation began at 10 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a Rosary service at 10:30 a.m., all at the church.
Inurnment will take place in the McCracken City Cemetery, McCracken, Kansas, on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Dana Clark officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the McCracken City Cemetery Fund to be used for specific projects.
