RENO COUNTY—The Hutchinson Police Department reported to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation that Homer Lee Gilson, 79, of Hutchinson, was found safe in Topeka.
The KBI canceled the silver alert for the person and thanked those who helped with the investigation.

RENO COUNTY—The Hutchinson Police Department requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation issue a statewide silver alert for a missing Hutchinson man Tuesday morning.
The whereabouts of 79-year-old Homer Lee Gilson of Hutchinson are unknown, and HPD and the KBI requested the public’s assistance to help locate him.
According to a press release, Gilson is likely driving a silver 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a brush guard on the front bearing Kansas tag 3478AED. He was headed to Topeka on the morning of Aug. 11 when he became lost.
Gilson is a white male who is around 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He has gray hair, blue eyes and a medical condition that may impair his ability to return safely without assistance.
