South Hutch intersections near Highway 50 warrant safety improvements, city says
South Hutchinson City Administrator Jeff Schenk said a proposed change to intersections near U.S. Highway 50 includes relocating the first intersection on Main Street north to Detroit Drive, closing current westbound access at Des Moines Avenue. Schenk said a curved road from Detroit Drive could connect to West Des Moines Avenue. The proposed changes are not final and are only first proposals. A final map would have to be agreed upon by both the City of South Hutchinson and the Kansas Department of Transportation before any final plan is implemented.
