Gary Dean Voth, 76, passed away peacefully on Jan. 12, 2026. He was born in Kingman, Kansas, on Oct. 17, 1949, to Dean Voth and Imogene Smith Voth.

He married Theo Ann Uppendahl on Nov. 26, 1971. After residing in Colorado, they returned to their hometown of Cheney, Kansas, where they lived happily for over 50 years amongst family and countless friends.

Gary worked several jobs prior to retiring from Boeing & Spirit Aerosystems. He and wife Theo took great pride in opening Champs Sports Bar & Grill in Cheney, as well. Gary had a fondness for cooking and BBQ. He was also an avid coin collector. Other hobbies included hunting, fishing, traveling, card games and doing puzzles, especially with his mother, Imogene, and brother, Terry. His favorite teams were the Cubs, KU Jayhawks, and KC Chiefs, but his biggest joy was supporting his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews over the years. Gary was very proud of becoming a great grandpa in recent years. He was a devoted and proud member of the Trinity United Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Voth; mother, Imogene Beat; brother, Terry Voth; and granddaughter, Leah Overlees.

He is survived by his wife, Theo of Wichita; daughter, Angie Overlees of Wichita; son, Aaron Voth of Wichita; grandkids, Taylor (Gabe) Schomacker and Logan Overlees; great-grandkids Dutton and Steele; and seven nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wulf Ast Mortuary in Garden Plain, Kansas.

The service will be Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. at Trinity United Christian Church, Cheney, Kansas. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Cheney, Kansas.

Memorials may be sent to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Trinity United Christian Church.
