HUTCHINSON—Soroptimist International of Hutchinson (SI-Hutch) is accepting applications for its 11th annual Community Impact Award.
The Community Impact Award was established in 2015 to acknowledge two exceptional high school senior girls and provide each with a $500 cash award to support their education. Selection is ranked according to community service. The award also includes a $250 gift for a nonprofit in honor of the recipients.
To help fund these awards, the Soroptimist holds two fundraisers. Their newest fundraiser, the profits from the Mommy and Me Dance, along with the annual free Women’s Show and Health Fair, help sustain the award. An honorable mention category was added last year for five more seniors who earned money.
SI-Hutch chose to make the awards unrestricted due to the high cost of education. Recipients in 2025 were from Hutchinson and Haven high schools.
To apply, applicants should include a one-page letter summarizing their volunteer experience’s community impact, their educational ambitions, and their preferred nonprofit organization for consideration. Applications should be emailed to holzrichterja@gmail.com, and the deadline is Jan. 15, 2026.
