Election tiebreaker leaves USD 309 board with vacancy
Reno County Commission Chairman Don Bogner, acting in the role of chairman of the Board of County Canvassers, draws a name out of a hat held by County Clerk Jenna Fager to break a nine-way tie among write-ins for position 6 on the Nickerson/South Hutchinson Board of Education on Monday, Nov. 17. Diana Bruce won the tiebreaker, but Fager’s office found she doesn’t live in the correct part of the school district for position 6, creating a vacancy that the school board will be able to appoint someone to.
