FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—Collin Patton led the Hutch Composite Disciples of Dirt youth mountain bike team at the National Interscholastic Cycling Association Central Regional Championships this past weekend.
Patton finished 14th out of 87 competitors in the JV3 Boys category, while teammate William Reade placed 80th. Haydon Von Ahnen finished 78th out of 105 riders in the JV1 Boys division.
“Our riders showed toughness, heart, and great sportsmanship all weekend,” team director and coach David Inskeep said. “They continue to represent Hutchinson well and demonstrate what youth cycling is all about: growth, confidence, and community.”
Students in fifth through 12th grade are eligible to join Hutch Composite, which is a local non-profit that has been competing in the NICA series for six years. There are no prerequisites to join the team.
The team is hosting a meet-and-greet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Harley’s Bicycles, 629 N. Main St. in Hutchinson. More information about Hutch Composite can be found at hutchcomposite.com.
