HUTCHINSON—The City of Hutchinson announced Tuesday afternoon that it has temporarily halted water service shutoffs for late payments.

“The City of Hutchinson understands that the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing federal government shutdown may be causing financial strain for some members of our community,” the city wrote in a post on its verified Facebook page.

“Our goal is to ensure all residents continue to have access to essential water services during this period of financial uncertainty,” the city added.
