A Hutchinson 19-year-old died after a one-pickup rollover early Friday morning north of McPherson, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
According to the public crash log, 20-year-old Bentley D. Eckhoff of Hutchinson was driving a Ford Ranger southbound on Interstate 135, about 1 mile north of Quivira Road in McPherson County, when the pickup went off the roadway to the left at 5:40 a.m. Friday. KHP reported he overcorrected, and the pickup rolled multiple times.
KHP reported Joel R. Guffrey, 19, of Hutchinson, was also in the pickup and suffered fatal injuries. He was transported to Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center, and KHP notified his next of kin.
Eckhoff was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with suspected minor injuries, according to the crash log.
