The Buhler Crusaders boys golf team won the Class 4A regional title at the par-70 Turkey Creek golf course in McPherson.
The Crusaders posted a 321 team score and placed six golfers in the top 20.
Concordia and Pratt placed second and third and with 332 scores and qualified their teams for the 4A state tournament next Tuesday and Wednesday (May 27-28) at Sand Creek Station in Newton.
McPherson placed fourth with a 340 score, followed by Abilene 366, Hugoton 375, Clay Center 383 and Ulysses 421.
Buhler’s Zach Chance tied Abilene’s Aaron Hartman with 72s to lead the individuals. Chance defeated Hartman in a two-hole playoff for first-place honors. Pratt’s Grant McAtee placed third with a 73.
Buhler’s Drew DeMeyer tied for sixth with Hugoton’s Lane Stand with 79s. DeMeyer was followed in the Buhler scoring by Isaiah Heredia, Nick Chance and James Dingler who tied for 11th place with 85s. Buhler’s Jace Heimerman tied for 20th place with an 89.

Buhler girls soccer team blanks Winfield 8-0 in 4-1A West #4 regional semifinal
The Buhler High School girls soccer team posted an 8-0 shutout of Winfield in the Class 4-1A West #4 Regional Monday at Buhler’s Crusader Stadium.
Buhler goalkeeper Sammie Brooks and the Crusaders’ defense posted their 10th shutout.
Juliette Shank and Madi McCool scored the first two goals for the Crusaders. Alyssa Berner, Mikaela Jarrett and Kennedee Applegate each scored two goals.
Jarrett had three assists. Berner, Zoey Dick, Kenzie Polk and Nicole Anselmo each had one assist.
Buhler (12-5) advanced to Thursday night’s 4-1A West #4 championship game. The game will be played at Crusader Stadium, so it will be the Crusader girls soccer team’s final home game of 2025.
In the West #4 regional title match, the Crusaders will play the winner of the Mulvane (10-6) vs. Wichita Collegiate (3-11-2) regional seminal at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Mulvane.
The Winfield Vikings girls soccer team finished the season with a record of 0-16-1.
The West regional winners advance to the quarterfinals next Monday.
Quarterfinal winners advance to the Class 6A, Class 5A and Class 4-1A state soccer tournaments May 28-31 at Scheel’s Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, 2999 Greenwich Road.

Hutchinson Trinity Catholic golfers 2nd at regional, qualify for 2A state tournament
The Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School Celtics placed second at the Kansas Class 2A Southeast of Saline regional Monday at Salina Municipal Golf Course.
The Celtics qualified for the Kansas Class 2A state tournament next Monday at McPherson’s Turkey Creek Golf Course.
Salina Sacred Heart won the the regional title with a 307 score, followed by Hutchinson Trinity 319 and Ellinwood 355. Smith Center placed fourth with a 390 score, followed by Solomon 431, Herington 438, Inman 449 and Ell Saline 489.
In Classes 6A, 5A, 4A, 2A and 1A, the top three teams from each regional plus the next five individual scores not on a qualifying team, plus ties, will qualify for state golf.
In Class 3A, the top two teams from each regional plus the next five individual scores not on a qualifying team, plus ties, will qualify for state golf.
Each school may enter up to six players for regional and state. The lowest four scores will count towards the team score.
Hutchinson Trinity’s Tyler Casebolt placed third with a 4-over-par 76, followed by Miles Blaylock, sixth place, 80; Lincoln Barnes, seventh, 81; Seamus Hogan, eighth, 82; Matt Armour and Ian Shaw, tied for 12th, 88.
Sterling’s Cameron Morris placed ninth with an 85 and qualified for state. Also competing for Sterling were Waylon Schmidt, 21st, 95; and Lane Weigel, 29th, 106.
Inman was paced by Creighton Fries, who tied for 23rd with a 97 score. He was followed by Keetan McEuem, tied for 32nd, 111; Braeden Stutzman, 37th, 118; and Brett Jerrick, 42nd, 123.
Salina Sacred Heart golfers Luke Newell and Dominic Matteucci placed first and second with scores of 69 and 75. Teammate Will Tuttle tied for fourth with Ellinwood’s Luke Heinz with 77s.
Salina Sacred Heart’s Ben Marrs and Ethan Newell placed 10th and 11th at 86 and 87. Sacred Heart’s Cody Burr tied for 12th at 88.
Ellinwood’s Braden Lewis and Austin Brack placed placed 15th and 17th at 89 and 92. Teammates Austin Shinliver and Keaton Lewis were 23rd and 26th at 97 and 104.

Haven, Nickerson, Lyons golfers compete at 3A regional at Kingman
Haven, Nickerson and Lyons golfers competed as individuals in the Kansas Class 3A regional Monday at the par-72 Eagles Pub and Golf Course in Kingman.
Haven and Nickerson and Lyons did not field full teams.
Haven’s top golfer was Kyler Nikkel, who tied for 29th with a 103 score. He was followed by Kolton Altvater, who tied for 32nd, 105; and Jacob Myers, 36th, 112.
Nickerson’s top golfer was Addrick Nelson, tied for 34th, 109; and Alfonso Lozano, tied for 45th, 132.
Kingman’s Kory Meireis captured first place individual honors with a 79.

Trinity-Little River baseball regional game postponed to Tuesday
The Trinity Catholic Celtic baseball team’s Class 2-1A Marion regional semifinal game against Little River will be played at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Sedgwick plays Remington at 2 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The games were postponed from Monday because storms were predicted for the Marion area.
Trinity is 13-7 and Little River is 19-3. Little River defeated Marion 4-3 in the first round.
Eight regional winners advance to the Class 2-1A state tournament May 29-30 at the Great Bend Sports Complex.
The Trinity Celtic baseball team built a four-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Inman for a 5-4 victory in the first round of the Class 2-1A regional on Wednesday.
Inman closed the gap by scoring on a single, a ground out and a single.
Trinity’s Drew Dechant struck out 10 batters and walked three. He surrendered two hits and one run over six innings.
A ground out by Elijah Herndon put Inman on the board in the top of the second.
A single by Jeremy Gentry gave Trinity a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third. The first baseman went 1-for-3. Dechant went 3-for-4. Kaid McElgunn went 2-for-4.
Trinity committed no errors. Gage Schroeder made the most plays with 10.
Talon Welch, Dylan Larson, Herndon and Korbyn McClellan each drove in one run for Inman. McClellan went 2-for-4 and had two of Inman’s four stolen bases.
Inman finished the season with a 10-11 record.
Inman softball team advances to 2-1A regional semifinal
The Inman High School softball team defeated Ell-Saline 15-0 in the first round of the Kansas Class 2-1A Inman regional.
Inman (20-1) will play Salina Sacred Heart (10-15) in the semifinals Tuesday at Inman. Sacred Heart defeated Sylvan-Lucas Unified in the first round (score was not available).
At Bennington, Little River lost to Bennington 7-2. Bennington, the No. 1-seed, improved to 22-1. Little River finished the season with a 5-18 record.
Bennington will play Sterling in the 3 p.m. semifinal game Tuesday. Sterling defeated Ellinwood 20-13 in the first round. Ellinwood finished the season with a 12-15 record.
The semifinal winners will play 25 minutes after the conclusion of the second semifinal game.
The regional champion will advance to the Class 2-1A state softball tournament May 29-30 at the Green Sports Complex in Pratt.
Nickerson softball team falls to Beloit in 3A regional
The Nickerson High School softball team lost to Beloit 7-6 in a Kansas Minneapolis 3A regional game played at Beloit.
The Nickerson Panthers finished the season with a 2-23 record.
Halstead baseball team falls to Hesston at 3A regional semifinals
The Halstead High School baseball team lost to Hesston 12-7 Monday in the semifinals of the Kansas Class 3A regional at Lucas.
Halstead, which defeated the host Sylvan-Lucas/Lincoln team 12-6 in a first-round game last Wednesday, finished the season with a 6-18 record.

Reno County Sabres complete track season
The Reno County Sabres Homeschool track teams completed their season with meets in Stafford, Udall and the Christian Homeschool National Track Meet in Bolivar, Mo.
The Sabres’ 16U boys are the national Homeschool second-pace finishers.
