Memoir author, actor, amongst other titles up next for Dillon Lecture Series

Tyler Merritt will present the second Dillon Lecture of the 2025 series on Tuesday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Hutchinson Sports Arena.

Merritt is an actor, comedian, musician and content creator. He is the founder of The Tyler Merritt Project and the author of the memoir “I Take My Coffee Black: Reflections on Tupac, Musical Theater, Faith, and Being Black in America.”

Meritt’s television credits include ABC’s Kevin Probably Saves The World, Netflix’s Messiah, Netflix’s Outer Banks, Apple TV+’s series Swagger, Disney+ and Marvel series Falcon and the Winter Soldier, NBC’s Ordinary Joe, Lifetime’s Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff and upcoming A24 feature film The Inspection.

According to the press release from Hutchinson Community College, Merritt infuses his core beliefs of unity, empathy, compassion and inclusion with humor in his lectures.He aims to make his messages relatable and accessible to a wide range of audiences.

Members of the media are invited to a press conference with Merritt at 9:45 a.m. before the lecture. The press conference will take place in the Media Interview Room at the sports arena.

Tickets to the lecture are available for purchase at hutchcc.edu/dls and will also be available on the day of the lecture, beginning at 9:45 a.m.
