The annual Hutchinson Art Center Members Art Show starts Friday evening with an opening reception. The event, sponsored by First National Bank and free and open to the public, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hutchinson Art Center, 405 N Washington St. Hutchinson Art Center Executive Director John Eberly said the exhibit will run through November 16.
The art center’s Front Gallery is exhibiting photographs from Nickerson native Francis Hawks from Oct. 3 – 30.
The center will hold an afternoon Kids’ Make ‘N Take class on Oct. 12, themed “Chameleons.” Due to limited class sizes, reservations are required by phone at (620) 663-1081 or at the center.
Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College Art Department students are holding their annual “Empty Bowls” event on Oct. 17 from 5 – 7 p.m.
The fall art auction has been canceled, and the next one is scheduled for Apr. 5, 2025. Eberly encourages anyone with artwork to consider for the auction to contact the center before bringing the item by.
