Felony flee and elude arrests Saturday

The Hutchinson Police Department arrested three individuals Saturday afternoon after a felony vehicle pursuit that involved five different law enforcement agencies.

That’s according to a press release issued by HPD Sunday morning. Captain Dayton Gates wrote HPD was dispatched to Dunham’s Sports, located at 1500 East 11th Ave in reference to a theft.

The suspects left the area in a U-Haul box truck. Shortly after being dispatched, Kansas Highway Patrol located and attempted to make a traffic stop on the U-Haul box truck near 15th Ave and Halstead Street. KHP initiated a vehicle pursuit after the suspect vehicle refused to pull over.

Hutchinson Police Department assisted with the vehicle pursuit. Officers were able to successfully stop-stick the U-Haul box truck. The vehicle pursuit came to a stop in the 500 block of West 1st Ave. 

The driver, Charles Bogguess, 44 YOA male from Wichita, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer x2, felony flee and elude, felony interference with law enforcement, possession of stolen property, possession of opiates, possession of stolen property; 2 or more convictions in 5 years, theft; property or services; less than $1,500, reckless driving, driving while suspended; 3rd or subsequent conviction and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jamie Batres, 39 YOA female from Wichita, was arrested and charged with felony interference with law enforcement, possession of opiates; 2 or more prior convictions, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen property and theft; property or services; less than $1,500.

Jasmine Gray, 34 YOA female from Wichita, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property; less than $1,500 and theft; property or services; less than $1,500.

No injuries were reported.

“Hutchinson Police Department would like to thank the following law enforcement agencies for their help with the investigation: Kansas Highway Patrol, Reno County Sheriff’s Office, and South Hutchinson Police Department,” the press release wrote.
