The Inman Teuton cross country team, guided by 11th-year head coach Jay Parsons, returns five experienced runners, including junior two-time state qualifier Tyler Martisko.
Juniors Riley Roots, Abigail Siemens, Addison Wedel and sophomore Lily Heflin also have experience.
“I am sure Tyler’s goal for this season is to make a third trip to the state meet,” Parsons said. “Riley Roots missed qualifying last year so I am sure his goal is to make his first trip to the state meet. Both guys have spent the summer getting ready for this season so they should be able to step right in. I am eager to see both progress through the season on their way to the state meet.
“Lily Heflin really isn’t a new runner. She ran in junior high but didn’t run last year as a freshman. I am familiar with her and her potential as a runner. Lily, Abigail and Addison have all spent the summer getting ready for this season.
“We haven’t enough numbers for a team for about eight years. However, the runners I have understand everything falls on them and they step up to it and take it on. I am looking forward to this season. Barring injuries, I am looking forward to the advancement and improvement of each of the runners.”
Inman starts the season Sept. 4 at the Tescott Invitational.
