Division Chief of Operations Jeremy Unruh announced via press release Hutchinson Fire Department’s Brush 71 accepted an assignment in Eastern Oregon.
The brush crew is set to assist in the handling of the Durkee Fire, a 200,000-acre wildfire that is currently the largest in the nation.
The crew left the station at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
“Please pray for a safe assignment and safe travels as this crew will be putting in a large amount of work for the next 14 to 16 days,” the press release wrote.
