HUTCHINSON—Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System (HRHS) has announced two key executive leadership appointments. Sharon Jeffers is the new chief financial officer (CFO), while Jim Black has been promoted to chief human resources officer (CHRO).
Jeffers brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience. She previously worked at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, where she helped oversee financial planning for a $1.2 billion healthcare system and led initiatives resulting in more than $5 million in cost savings. Prior to that, she spent more than 17 years at Denver Health.
As CFO, Jeffers will oversee financial operations and strategic financial planning across HRHS, helping ensure the organization remains well-positioned to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the region.
“I’m excited to join Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System and contribute to an organization with such a strong commitment to its community,” Jeffers said. “Financial stewardship plays an important role in ensuring patients have access to the care they need, close to home.”
Black assumed the role of chief human resources officer in September 2026, having previously served as vice president of human resources since joining HRHS in October 2024.
His 30 years of human resources leadership experience includes time with Walmart, T-Mobile and Ascension.
In his expanded role as CHRO, Black will continue leading the health system’s human resources strategy, with a focus on attracting and retaining talent, strengthening organizational culture, and supporting the professional growth and well-being of team members across HRHS.
Black said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve in an expanded leadership capacity.
“My focus remains on creating an environment where our people feel valued, supported and empowered to provide exceptional care to our patients and community,” he added.
Together, Jeffers and Black will play important roles in advancing HRHS’s strategic priorities and supporting its continued commitment to delivering accessible, quality healthcare to the communities it serves.
“Their contributions will be instrumental in strengthening our organization and advancing our mission of making health and healing available to all,” President and CEO of HRHS Benjamin Anderson said.
