Lloyd Eugene Smith, 87, was born Jan. 31, 1939, and passed away on Oct. 20, 2026. Lloyd was born in Alta Vista, Kansas, to Carl and Helen Smith on Jan. 31. He was welcomed by older brother Harold Whiting Smith. Lloyd spent his early years in Wichita, Kansas. Then the family settled in Mount Hope, Kansas.
Lloyd leaves behind Harold and Carol Smith, Ladeane Reese, Rhonda Rueger, Buddy Reese (Mandy), Tiffany Isley (Bryan), Wayne Reese (Haylie); grandchildren, Lacey Rueger, Ashton Bornholdt (Drew), Kara Chaffin (Kel), Regina Reichenberger (Luke), Layla Higgins (Aiden), Trystan Isley (Abigial), Tryniti Isley (Skylar), Brogan Isley, Reanna Penner (Jerad), Emilyn, and Kynlie; and many great grandchildren, Jeremy, Easton, Emmett, Creed, Noelle, Sadie, Alan, Jack, Bowie, Tucker and Saylor.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Rick Reese, and grandchildren, Devon and Rachel Rueger.
Family visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. and a funeral service will be on Monday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m., both at Wulf-Ast Mortuary, 120 N. King Street in Mount Hope, Kansas.
