HUTCHINSON—Lynnette Krieger-Zook announced her candidacy for the Kansas House of Representatives District 104 seat on Friday, May 15.
Krieger-Zook, a retired special education teacher, wrote in her announcement that her priorities are affordability and accountability. That includes reducing the tax burden on working families, making housing more attainable, addressing rising utility and grocery costs, supporting public schools, fully funding special education, and supporting partnerships with students from private schools, homeschooling and community partners.
“Communities across our state are facing real economic pressure, and people are looking for leaders who understands their struggles,” Krieger-Zook wrote in her announcement. “Kansans deserve practical solutions, honest communication and leadership focused on helping families, small businesses, farmers, working people and local communities thrive.”
Krieger-Zook was the Democratic nominee in District 104 in 2024, unsuccessfully challenging incumbent Rep. Paul Waggoner. Waggoner announced that he will not seek re-election this year. Reno County Commissioner Randy Parks is running for the seat as a Republican.
