Linda Sue (Engweiler) Luyster, 77, of Sterling, passed away April 10, 2026, at her home. She was born, Dec. 7, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Jim and Joan Engweiler.

Linda graduated from Haven High School in 1966, going on to beauty school at Sydney’s in Hutchinson. After years of styling hair in Wichita, she worked for Cessna, a kitchen aid at The Sterling Presbyterian Manor in Sterling, as well as home health care.

Her last full-time job, before retirement, for many years, was managing Gambino’s Pizza in Sterling with her good friends, Liz Wade and Marla Rogge.

She married the love of her life, George Luyster, on May 8, 1978, in Sterling, Kansas. They spent almost 48 years together. Their favorite time together was sitting on a creek bank, fishing for catfish or riding the countryside on their Honda Goldwing.

After retirement, she spent her time loving on her husband, kids and grandkids. She cherished nothing more than her family, as they were the center of her whole world.

She is survived by her love, George; daughters, Shelly Rogers (Mark), and Kim Lenhart (Daaron); son, Jim Shultz (Michelle); step-daughters, Audria Bieberle (Jerry), Paula Miller (Brad), and Tammy Alderdice; sister, Mary Miles (Jon); grandkids, Chris, Kody, Alyssa, Myranda, Peighton, Kylie, Audra, Geoff, Taylor, and Avery; great-grandkids, James, Loralei, Angel, Gabriel, Zayden, Sofia, Isla (Jones), Owen, Ian, and Isla (Gonzalez); nephews, Craig and Dustin; nieces, Debi, Keli, and Lacey; and step-grandkids, Ryan, Brenna, Brandon, Trey, Chelsea, Jerred, and Kendra.

She was preceded in death by her parents; best friend and brother, Lee Engweiler; several aunts and uncles; her favorite partners in crime, Liz Wade and Marla Rogge; and her beloved beagle, B.J.
