HAVEN—The Laurel Cemetery in Haven will participate in Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The local ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. followed by volunteers placing live balsam wreaths on the graves of every veteran laid to rest at the cemetery.
“Each wreath placed is a small gesture of our immeasurable gratitude,” Wreaths Across America said in a news release. “On Wreaths Across America Day, Kansans come together to remember our fallen veterans, honor those who serve, and teach future generations about the true cost of freedom.”
Community members, families, veterans, and civic groups are invited to attend the ceremony and assist with wreath placement. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.
Wreaths Across America, a national nonprofit organization, coordinates annual wreath-laying ceremonies at veterans’ cemeteries across the United States and abroad.
