HUTCHINSON—Guests at the TECH Gala can expect a full crowd at the black-affair Saturday at Memorial Hall. The annual fundraiser for TECH Inc.’s programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is sold out, Director of Marketing and Development KT Gates said Monday.
“It has a huge impact,” Gates said. “It is our biggest fundraiser for the year,” both in terms of number of people and amount raised.
In recent years, the gala has drawn around 330 guests, she said.
Saturday’s gala will feature a cocktail hour, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a late night pizza buffet, live and deejayed music, photographers and 360-degree photo booth, live and silent auctions, and a presentation by featured TECH artist Kelli Bringle. One of the key items on the auction will be a painting created especially for the gala by Bringle.
Currently, TECH serves about 150 people in Reno County with residential and day services, adult life skills and employment programs, and an art program, among other services.
