HUTCHINSON—Superior Boiler announced Friday that it is donating a boiler to Hutchinson’s Historic Fox Theatre.
The new boiler and associated equipment will replace a boiler that the company donated in 1991 during the Fox Theatre’s restoration campaign, Superior Boiler said in a news release.
“We are honored to support the Hutchinson Fox Theatre with this boiler donation,” Superior Boiler President and CEO Doug Wright said in the release. “The Fox Theatre is a cultural staple in our community, and we’re proud that our equipment has played a role in maintaining a comfortable environment for its visitors over the years. With this new boiler, the theatre will experience many more years of dependable service.”
The release said the new boiler is more advanced, with technology to dispose of impurities in the water, improving both its efficiency and lifespan.
According to the theater’s website, the Fox Theatre opened in 1931 and was named the State Movie Palace of Kansas by the Kansas Legislature in 1994. It is on the state and national historic registers.
“As a company that has called Hutchinson home for many years, we take great pride in being part of this community and supporting its historic institutions,” Superior Boiler Vice President of Sales and Marketing Matt Steele said in the release.
