HUTCHINSON—The Kansas State Fair has announced that the Demolition Derby scheduled for tonight, September 8, has been canceled due to inclement weather.
After monitoring conditions and consulting with officials, the Fair determined that canceling the event was the most responsible course of action.
“We know how much our guests look forward to the Demolition Derby each year,” said Bryan Schulz, Kansas State Fair General Manager. “While we’re disappointed by tonight’s cancellation, safety must come first. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and look forward to welcoming fans back for the rest of this year’s Fair.”
For ticketholders: all ticketholders will receive refunds. Those who purchased tickets by credit card will receive automatic refunds to the original method of payment by Etix. Guests who purchased tickets with cash will be contacted directly by the Kansas State Fair Ticket Office regarding their refund.
The Fair continues through Sunday, September 14. Guests can find the latest schedule updates at www.kansasstatefair.com or by downloading the official Kansas State Fair app.
