HutchCC Board of Trustees preview budget for 2025-2026 school year

By Brendan Ulmer

The Hutchinson Community College board of trustees met on Aug. 14 to discuss the budget for the upcoming school year.

The new proposed budget is for a total of $74,840,946 and includes a projected increase in funding for all their programs and expenditures across the board.

Despite increases in expenditures, the mill rate levied by the community college will drop to 21.538 from 21.840. The 21.840 was a slight increase from 2023-2024’s mill rate which stood at 21.830.

Another item on the agenda was their master agreement for the upcoming school year. The master agreement contains the terms and conditions of employment for all HutchCC employees. The agreement passed unamended.

The Hutchinson Community College Board of Trustees will meet again on Sept. 11 to vote on the proposed budget.
