Six Blue Dragon women’s basketball players sign with four-year schools

Six Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragon women’s basketball players have signed commitments to four-year programs for the 2025-2026 season.

• Brynne Karcher committed to Roosevelt University. She played in 34 games as a Blue Dragon. She pulled down 180 rebounds, posted two double-doubles, scored in double figured in nine games and scored a career-high 19 points in a game against Independence.

• Jada Pleasant committed to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. She was a member of the 2024 national championship team, played in 67 games as a Blue Dragon, started 34 games as a sophomore and scored a career-high 15 points on 5-of-5 3-point shooting against Colby.

• Kahlen Norris will be a Ragin’ Cajun at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. She is a member of the 2024 national championship team, played in 64 games as a Blue Dragons (59-5 record) and scored 18 points and granted 9 rebounds against Independence

• Landon Forbes has committed to Morehead State University. She played in 34 games as a Blue Dragon and scored a season-high 21 points on seven 3-pointers against Barton CC. She scored 304 season points and was named First Team All-Jayhawk Conference.

• Madi Denison committed to Northwest Oklahoma State University. A member of the 2024 national championship team, Denison played in 69 career games. Her career high in points came against Labette and she grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds against Eastern Oklahoma and shot 49% from the field her sophomore year.

• Zhane Singer played in 12 games as a Blue Dragon during the 2024-25 season. She committed to the University of St. Patrick. She shot 54% from the field, grabbed 48 rebounds in 12 games and pulled down 10 rebounds against Fort Hays Tech.

Hutchinson’s Robert Hunter featured in Vype article

Hutchinson High School senior football player Robert Hunter is featured in a South Central Vype magazine article by Angela Brunk.

The article reads:

As Robert Hunter enters his senior year at Hutchinson High School, the dual-threat quarterback and cornerback has one clear mission: finish his high school career as one of the best players in Kansas.

Hunter, Class of 2026, has set the bar high.

His goals include becoming the top player in the state, winning the Gatorade Player of the Year award, and most importantly, leading the Salthawks to a state championship.

Individually, he’s aiming to throw and rush for more than 1,000 yards each, while also locking down receivers with at least seven interceptions and 60 tackles from the secondary.
