First-Class Mail Forever Stamps will cost five cents more when you send a letter under one ounce through the U.S. Postal Service starting July 13.

The postal service announced a 7.4% price increase in mailing services, making regular stamps 78 cents a piece.

According to the postal service’s official website, “The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.”

Domestic postcard stamps increased from 56 cents to 62 cents, with international postcards rising five cents to $1.70. International letters under one ounce in weight cost the same as international postcards.
