The Kansas Eight-Man Football Association Division II and Division I All-Star Games ended in routs.
The East All-Stars routed the West All-Stars 58-0 Saturday in the Kansas Eight-Man Football Association Division II All-Star Game Saturday at Beloit.
The West All-Stars blew out the East All-Stars 72-0 in the KEMFA Division I All-Star Game. The score was 22-0 after one quarter and 46-0 at halftime.
The Eight-Man Division II West team featured Hutchinson Central Christian’s Ry Kooiman and Keaton Miller and Fairfield’s Connor Fowler and Garrett Lanning. Hutchinson Central Christian coach Matt Barnett and Fairfield’s Kyle Finder served as assistant coaches for the West II team.
The Eight-Man Division I East All-Stars featured Little River players Kyle Bergkamp, Ruxton Birdson and Logan Renken.
In the Eight-Man II All-Star Game, East Team quarterback JD Tyson, who led Burlingame High School to the Eight-Man II state title, threw eight touchdown passes — an Eight-Man II All-Star Game record. The TD passes totaled 173 yards.
Tyson threw TD passes to Frankfort’s Carter Olson (46 yards, 5 yards, 23 yards) and Lane Loiseau (17 yards and 31 yards), Marmaton Valley’s Jaedon Granere (26 yards), Tyson’s Burlingame teammate Dane Winters (5 yards) and Blue Valley Randolph’s Landon Summp (20 yards).
The Eight-Man West Division I All-Stars scored three touchdowns in the first quarter en route to the second rout of the day. Wichita County-Leoti’s Khris Hermosillo scored touchdowns on runs of 1 and 7 yards.
South Gray’s Damien Loewen caught a 7-yard TD pass from Hoxie’s Duncan Bell and Rawlins County-Atwood’s Ryan Sramek scored on a 4-yard TD run.
Hermosillo fumbled in the end zone and Hoxie’s Samuel Watkins fell on the football for a touchdown.
In the third quarter, Hermosillo caught TD passes of 31 and 51 yards from Bell. In the fourth quarter, Hermosillo scored his fifth TD of the game on a 7-yard run. Hoxie’s Easten Nickelson capped the West Division I team’s scoring with a 15-yard interception for a touchdown (pick-6).
The Division I East coach was Chase County’s Derick Budke. He was assisted by Lincoln’s Colby Hamel and Central Plains’ J.D. Johnson.
The Eight-Man Division I West coach was Atwood-Rawlins County’s Aaron Sramek. He was assisted by South Central’s Brett Westrup and Hoxie’s Lance Baar.
Marmaton Valley’s Max Mickunas was the head coach for the Eight-Man Division II East Squad. He was assisted by Burlingame’s Jeff Slater and Colony Crest’s Nick McAnulty.
Bucklin’s Trevor Powell was the head coach for the Eight-Man II West squad.
The coaches and player were selected by the Kansas Eight-Man Football Coaches Association.
