Marcus Moeder said he is excited for his promotion to head track coach at Hutchinson High School.
“Track and field is something that has been in my life since I was a youth and through the collegiate ranks at Wichita State University,” Moeder said. “I look forward to growing our program into something that student athletes are excited to be a part of.
“I am a firm believer in multi-sport athletes and I think that track and field is the ultimate test of athleticism that will help our fall and winter sport athletes become more well rounded athletes. I look forward to working with the student athletes, coaching staff and getting our youth more involved in track and field.”
Former Hutchinson High School track and field coach Andrew Schroter praised the promotion of Moeder. Schroter is the La Crosse Leopards’ new track coach. He had served as the Hutchinson track coach starting in August of 2022. Both Schroter and Moeder are La Crosse High School graduates.
“Coach Moeder has been a great asset to Hutchinson High School track and field and has had a lot of success being in charge of our jumps program having multiple state champions,” Schroter said. “I have no doubt he will continue to have success here at Hutchinson High School and wish everyone at Hutchinson High School the best of luck.”
Moeder said Schroter will succeed as La Crosse track coach.
“I wish Coach Schroter nothing but success at La Crosse High School,” Moeder said. “As a graduate of La Crosse, it holds a special place in my heart.”
Schroter said he appreciates all the support from the administration at Hutchinson High School.
“It takes a lot of people to help run a successful sports program at a high school, including the athletic directors, transportation services, secretaries, booster club, as well as all the parents and families of the athletes,” Schroter said.
“I take great pride in being a Salthawk and feel comfortable leaving the program in the hands of someone as knowledgeable in the sport as Coach Moeder.”
