There is an ongoing investigation by the Hutchinson Police Department Traffic Unit. The investigation stems from a fatal accident that occurred at 25th Avenue and Monroe Street on Monday, March 17.
The Hutchinson Tribune reached out to HPD on Tuesday, March 18 for an update on the investigation but have not heard back as of publication date.
According to a press release from the Hutchinson Police Department, emergency personnel found the driver of a motorcycle unresponsive.
The motorcycle driver was identified as Joseph L. Kelly of Hutchinson. HPD stated that Kelly was heading North on Monroe Street and struck a passenger vehicle. Kelly was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was identified as Doris L. Sloup of Hutchinson who was driving East on 25th Ave. Sloup was reported as having no injuries.
HPD encourages those with any information to the crash to call Traffic Officers L. Hammond or J. Gilmore at (620) 694-2854.
