Buhler girls 3rd, Crusader boys 4th at Class 4-1A bowling state tournament

‘The Buhler High School girls and boys bowling teams competed for the Kansas Class 4-1A state championship Thursday at Bowlero Northrock Wichita.

The Buhler girls bowling team placed third at state with a 2655 score. Andale won the state title with 2786, followed by Chanute 2727.

Buhler’s Macy Miller placed sixth in the 4-1A state girls tournament with a 533 series (142-217-174).

Aubrey Ewing placed 17th with a 494 series (157-155-182) and Brayla Johnson 19th with a 490 series (153-144-153).

Buhler’s Cheyann Geesling placed 25th with a 479 series (153-189-137). Eva Goertz placed 30th place with a 457 series (131-143-183). Madalyn Bohringer placed 42nd with a 420 series (121-130-169).

Chanute’s Lovie Cosby won the state title with a 628 series.

Wichita Central Christian Academy placed fourth with 2649, followed by Ottawa 2557, Topeka Hayden 2454, Augusta 2292 and McPherson 2043.

The Buhler boys bowling team placed fourth with an overall score of 3193. Buhler’s Julian Morrison captured the 18th-place medal with a 620 series.

Buhler’s Logan Brown placed 23rd with a 601 series (198-207-196), followed by Malachi Willis in 26th with a 587 series (172-224-191), Dominic Gaede in 31st with a 566 series (157-173-236), Rylan Klug in 43rd with a 543 series (181-171-191) and Trevor Tustian in 59th with a 503 series (191-149-163).

Topeka Hayden won the team title with 3666 score. Mulvane’s Joseph Cervantes placed first with a 713 series, followed by Andale’s Konnor Bretthauer with a 704 series.

The top 20 individual finishers received medals.

The Buhler boys won the Class 4-1A state bowling title in 2024. The Crusader girls won the 5-1A state titles in 2012 and 2019.

Hutchinson senior Jacob Bofink places 25th at 5A boys state bowling tournament

Hutchinson High School senior Jacob Bofink placed 25th at the Kansas Class 5A state bowling tournament Wednesday after at Bowlero Northrock Wichita.

Bofink, who placed 19th at last year’s 5A state bowling tournament, bowled a 620 series (221-187-212).

Five bowlers posted 700+ series to place first through fifth.

Andover Central’s Paxton McLeod placed first with a 746 series, edging out Kansas City Piper’s Coltyn Bard at 744 and Maize South’s Tristan Coffey 739, Andover Central’s Dayden Cunningham 723 and Andover’s Madden Pumphrey 722.

Pumphrey bowled a perfect 300 game.

Andover Central won the 5A state title with a 3648 series.
