The No. 22 Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragon softball team traveled to Neosho, Mo., to play Crowder College Saturday at Crowder Softball Field.
The doubleheader against Crowder College replaced a twin bill against Iowa Western Community College that was originally scheduled for Saturday in Chanute.
Hutchinson (3-1) won the first game 4-3 and lost the second game 10-2 (6 innings, run rule).
The Blue Dragons play their first home doubleheader at 2 p.m. Friday on the new turf at Fun Valley. Hutchinson hosts Labette Community College.
Trinity teams take two from Sedgwick at home
The Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School girls basketball team defeated Sedgwick 53-45 Friday night at the Trinity gymnasium.
Sophomore Alex Suter-Tan led the Celtics with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals. Sophomore Eilley Cost scored 13 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and added 1 steal.
The Hutchinson Trinity girls improved to 2-13 and Sedgwick dropped to 3-10.
The Hutchinson Trinity boys completed the Celtic sweep with a 76-49 victory over the Cardinals. The Celtic boys improved to 4-10 and Sedgwick dropped to 4-9.
Trinity plays at Sterling Monday and hosts Berean Academy next Friday.
Haven boys improved to 14-1
The Haven High School boys basketball team improved to 14-1 with a 65-21 victory over Smoky Valley Friday in Lindsborg.
Nash Wray scored 15 points to lead the Wildcats.
Gatlin Rinehart scored 12, Blake Richey 10, Maguire Jacques 8, Dalton Bontrager 6, Kolton Altvater 4, .Zane Jacques 3, Detrick Nisly 2, Brogan Wray 2, Riley Brawner 2 and Zade Turner 1.
Ty Heitschmidt led the Smoky Valley Viking boys with 15 points.
The Haven girls and boys basketball teams host Hoisington on Tuesday and play at Halstead on Friday.

Hutchinson Blue Dragon baseball team sweeps season opener against Hesston Larks
Nine different Blue Dragon pitchers combined for 26 strikeouts as the No. 23-ranked Hutchinson Community College baseball team opened the 2025 season with a doubleheader sweep of the Hesston College Larks on Friday at Hobart-Detter Field.
Four pitchers combined for a three-hit shutout and the Blue Dragons exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning as Hutchinson defeated Hesston 9-0 in Game 1.
Then trailing by two runs after three innings in Game 2, the Blue Dragons scored multiple runs in 4 of their final 5 at-bats as Hutchinson pulled away for a 14-4 run-rule win in the night came.
Now 2-0, the Blue Dragons will be on the road for four games next week starting with a pair of neutral-site games on Wednesday against Eastern Oklahoma State (2 p.m.) and NEO (7 p.m.) in Edmond, Okla.
Buhler boys, girls wrestling teams split with McPherson
The Buhler High School boys wrestling team clipped McPherson 41-40 Friday at the McPherson Roundhouse.
The Buhler girls lost to McPherson 66-18.
McPherson’s boys lost to Winfield 56-24 and the Bullpup girls defeated the Vikings 60-24.
