Hutchinson Community Foundation asks for housing leadership cohort participants

By Kate Irelan

In a January 30 press release from Wendy Skellenger, Communications Officer with the Hutchinson Community Foundation, Reno County residents are invited to apply for a housing cohort leadership experience through a free Kansas Leadership Center (KLC) Transformational Leadership Grant. The Hutchinson Community Foundation is asking those interested to complete a form by February 24.

In the cohort, individuals can sharpen their leadership skills while applying them to an adaptive community challenge related to housing for vulnerable populations in Reno County.

Skellenger said, “Since 2019, Hutchinson Community Foundation has held a KLC Leadership Transformation Grant on behalf of Hutchinson and Reno County communities.” Last year, the grant focused on the Reno County Housing Needs Assessment and the work of the Downtown Unhoused Coalition.

Fifteen individuals will be selected to form the nine-month cohort, with most sessions held locally in Hutchinson and two multi-day sessions held at the KLC in Wichita. Meetings will begin in April and end in December. No previous KLC experience is necessary.

The deadline to complete the interest form is Feb. 24. To view the full timeline, program requirements and other details and to fill out the form, visit the Hutchinson Community Foundation website, https://hutchcf.org/initiativesandimpact/leadership-development/klc-cohort.For questions, contact Kari Mailloux, kari@hutchcf.org or 620-663-5293.
