The Hutchinson High School boys swim team tied for 10th place (with Valley Center) out of 18 teams Saturday at the Andover Invitational with 83 points.
The meet took place at the Andover Public Schools Aquatic Center.
Andover won the invitational championship with 405 points, followed by Wichita Collegiate with 298, Maize South 226, Maize 201, Wichita Heights 195, Andover Central 144, Goddard Eisenhower 138, Wichita Bishop Carroll 133 and McPherson 120.
Wichita Northwest placed 12th with 76 points, followed by Rose Hill 58, Wichita Southeast 57, El Dorado 33, Wichita Independent 31 and Wichita North 22.
Hutchinson’s Logan Most placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 38,22 seconds and seventh in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.22.
The Salthawks’ 400 freestyle relay team of Most, Zac Guillen, Ethan Nichols and Jordon Graham placed sixth with a time of 4:03.85.
Graham placed eighth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.04 and 10th in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:30.8.
The Salthawks entered 20 swimmers in the meet and 10 posted personal best swims.
Hutchinson competes in the Haysville-Campus Invitational at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Campus High School.
In addition to Hutchinson and Campus, other teams competing are Buhler, Derby, El Dorado, Great Bend, Newton and Wichita Northwest.
Hutchinson hosts the Hutchinson Invitational Tuesday at the Hutchinson YMCA pool.
Schools competing are Hutchinson, Buhler, Towanda-Circle, El Dorado, Great Bend, Maize, Maize South, Marion, McPherson and Rose Hill.
Hutchinson’s final regular-season meet is Feb. 6 at the Salina South Invitational.
Hutchinson competes in the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Championship Feb. 15 Haysville-Campus High School.
The state championship meet will take place Feb. 21-22 at the Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center.
