Hutchinson Trinity’s boys and girls will compete in the Sterling Invitational Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday along with Sterling and Lyons.
In first-round games Tuesday, the Hutchinson Trinity girls will play Scott City at 3 p.m., followed by the Hutchinson Trinity boys against Scott City at 4:30 p.m.
Games will be played at Sterling College and Sterling High School.
The Hutchinson Trinity girls basketball team lost to Remington 56-31 Friday night at Whitewater.
Sophomore Alex Suter-Tan led the Trinity Celtic girls with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Freshman Anika Paulsrud scored 5 points and added 3 assists and 2 steals.
The Hutchinson Trinity boys were edged by Remington 62-60. Remington also won the junior varsity boys game 47-43 and the JV girls game 12-2.

Three Salthawks place in Newton Boys Tournament of Champions
Hutchinson High School senior Kade Smith placed second in the 165-pound eight class at the Newton Tournament of Champions, which took place Friday and Saturday.
Hutchinson sophomore Cruz Cannon placed fourth at 113 pounds with a 5-2 record and Max Harris finished sixth at 157 pounds with a 3-3 record.
Not placing were freshman Dion Brown, 106 pounds, 0-2; freshman Kameron Wilson, 132 pounds, 0-2; senior Alex Stowell, 138 pounds, 1-2; junior Ayden Robidoux, 0-2; senior Anthony Gresham, 150 pounds, 0-2; sophomore Karson Etienne, 165 pounds, 0-2; junior Jackson Anderson, 175 pounds, 2-2; senior Kevin Wilson. 190 pounds, 0-2; freshman Ashtun Lemonds, 190 pounds, 0-2; and senior Skylar Ray, 215 pounds, 3-2.
Nickerson girls wrestlers 4th at Newton TOC
The Nickerson High School girls wrestling team competed in the prestigious Newton Tournament of Champions Wednesday and Thursday.
The Panthers placed fourth out of 29 teams along with having five individual medalists. Nickerson wrestlers had the highest placement of any 5A team in the field.
