41st Hyde Park Luminaria festival Saturday

The Hyde Park neighborhood will host the 41st Luminaria on Saturday.

Thousands of Luminaria will blaze along sidewalks and driveways as music and a horse-drawn wagon, and Santa will highlight activities in the park area along 20th Ave. Cider and cookies will be provided in the tent.

Grace Episcopal Church’s youth group will serve a soup dinner for free will donations. Proceeds will help with costs for the group’s pilgrimage to Canterbury planned for 2025.

RCAT will provide free bus rides through the Hyde Park neighborhood.

The celebration runs from 6 – 9 p.m. Streets around Hyde Park, including 20th and 22nd Avenues, and will be closed at 5:30. The streets will be reopened at 9:30 after festivities wind down at 9.

Between 5:30 and 9:30, the two blocks from Main St. east to Adams St. on 20th Ave. will be westbound-only one-way, and 22nd Ave. will be eastbound-only,

The weather forecast predicts temperatures at around 40 degrees, dropping to 30, with light winds and no precipitation.
