Salthawk varsity boys soccer match at Campus canceled because of weather

The Hutchinson High School varsity soccer team’s match against Campus/Clearwater Thursday night in Haysville was canceled due to inclement weather.

The game was called after Hutchinson took a 3-0 lead.

Hutchinson’s record is 10-3-2. Campus is 6-9-0.

The Hutchinson JV boys soccer team pitched a 5-0 shutout.

Seedings for Kansas boys regional soccer tournaments will be announced Friday by the KSHSAA. Regional play begins next Wednesday.

HutchCC women host scrimmage against Tabor College

The defending NJCAA champion Hutchinson Community College women’s basketball team welcomed Tabor College for a Thursday scrimmage at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

The Tabor College women’s basketball team is the 2024 KCAC tournament champion and the conference preseason favorite.

The HutchCC women are ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division I and Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference preseason polls.

The Blue Dragons won the NJCAA Division I Tournament Championship game and posted a 37-0 record.

The Blue Dragons are coached by John Ontjes, who begins his 18th season as HutchCC women’s coach.

The Blue Dragons open the 2024-2025 season on the road at NOC-Tonkawa on Nov. 1.

HutchCC will play Neosho County for its home opener on Nov. 5 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
