Hutchinson runners competed at AVCTL 1 cross country meet

Hutchinson High School cross country runners fared well at the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division 1 championships Saturday at Clapp Park in Wichita.

Hutchinson runners will compete at the Kansas Class 5A regional next Saturday at Great Bend. The girls 5K race starts at 10 a.m., followed by the boys 5K race at 10:40 a.m. 

Hutchinson varsity boys AVCTL 1 results: 28. Ethan Holmes, 18:14.1, 39. Lalo Rodriguez 19:06.8, 41. Aiden Koontz 19:29.2.

Hutchinson varsity girls AVCTL 1 results: 22. Avery Tecklenburg 21:44.6.

Hutchinson JV girls AVCTL 1 results: 11. Damaris Rodriguez 24:29.52.

Hutchinson JV boys AVCTL 1 results: 42. Ryan Rudolph Penka 21:51.81, 53. Hunter Kalish 24:59.79, 55. Peyton Holmes 25:23.27.

25 undefeated Kansas high school football teams left

According to Sports in Kansas, there are 25 undefeated high school football teams in Kansas entering the last week of the regular season (Week Eight).

6A: Manhattan, Derby.

5A: Aquinas, Great Bend.

4A: Louisburg.

3А: Wellsville, Frontenac, Hesston, Andale.

2A: Osage City, Humboldt, Southeast of Saline.

1A: Jackson Heights, Conway Springs.

8MI: West Elk, South Central, Hoxie.

8MII: Burlingame, Axtell, Minneola, Bucklin, Victoria, Dighton.

6M: Weskan, Cunningham.

KSHSAA football rankings list Hutchinson, Buhler, Haven, Central Christian as “others”

Four Hutchinson Tribune area high school football teams are listed as “others” in the KSHSAA Covered Week 7 poll released on Sunday.

The programs are Hutchinson (5-2) in Class 5A, Buhler (5-2) in Class 4A, Haven (6-1) in Class 2A and Hutchinson Central Christian (6-1) in Eight-Man II.

The No. 1 teams are Derby (7-0) in Class 6A, St. Thomas Aquinas in Class 5A (7-0), Louisburg (7-0) in Class 4A, Andale (7-0) in Class 3A, Southeast of Saline (7-0)  in Class 2A, Conway Springs (7-0) in 1A, Hoxie (7-0) in Eight-Man II and Cunningham (6-0) in Six-Man.
