The Hutchinson Salthawks, coming off a 50-0 win over Campus Friday at Colts Stadium in Haysville, will host the Newton Railers next Friday at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson.
The Salthawks improved to 4-2.
Newton lost to Andover 40-13 Friday night. The Railers are 0-6.
Hutchinson sparingly used several starting players in the win over Campus, including senior fullback Kade Smith, who carried the football just twice for 33 yards.
Max Harris rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown. Ayden Roubidoux rushed for 57 yards. Jeremyah Gaitho Karanu had 45 yards and two touchdown runs.
Senior quarterback Levi Kepler completed both of his passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Hutchinson had 268 yards rushing and had 17 first downs compared to 4 for Derby.
The Salthawks’ defense limited Derby to 13 yards of total offense (-2 rushing and 15 yards passing). Skylar Ray led the Salthawks in tackles with 3.
For the season, Hutchinson has outscored opponents 141-73 with four shutouts in six games.
Hutchinson has rushed for 1504 yards and passed for 255. Opponents have 450 yards rushing and 589 passing.
The Salthawks have outscored opponents 69-20 in the first quarter and 30-3 in the fourth quarter.
Place-kicker Taysen Runyon has made 1-of-4 field goals and 16-of-19 extra points. Smith averages 33.33 yards a punt.
Smith has 988 yards rushing with a team-leading seven touchdowns.
The Salthawks play their final regular-season game Oct. 25 at Maize South. The Mavericks (5-1) were upset by Maize 55-30 Friday night. Maize is 2-4.
The first round of the Kansas football playoffs begin on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Hutchinson, Buhler boys soccer teams in action Tuesday
The Hutchinson High School and Buhler High School boys soccer teams will be in action on Tuesday night.
Hutchinson, tied for fourth in the KSHSAA Class 5A standings with Valley Center with 9-2-1 records, hosts Maize (4-6-2) at the Salthawk Sports Complex.
The Salthawks trail Salina South (11-1), Maize South (10-2) and Topeka West (8-2) in Class 5A.
Hutchinson plays at McPherson (6-6) on Thursday, hosts Salina South on Oct. 22 and plays Campus and Clearwater Oct. 24.
Buhler (5-6-2, ranked 8th in KSHSAA Class 4A) hosts El Dorado (11-1) on Tuesday.
Buhler hosts El Dorado (No. 1 in KSHSAA Class 4A with an 11-1 record) on Tuesday and plays at Salina South Thursday and Elbing-Berean Academy on Oct. 22.
