Salthawk girls tennis team wins Hutchinson Invitational title

The Hutchinson High School girls tennis team won the Hutchinson Invitational Tennis Tournament Thursday at the Fairground tennis courts. 

Hutchinson’s Ayla Booe and Ellie Foos finished first in No. 1 doubles and the duo of Addison Lewis and Payzlee Regier placed first in No. 2 doubles.  

Rylee Miller placed third in No. 1 singles and Maggie Kaplan finished third in No. 2 singles.

Buhler High girls golfers place 6th, Hutchinson 9th at Hutchinson Invitational

The Buhler High School girls golf team placed sixth and Hutchinson ninth at the Hutchinson Invitational Thursday at the Carey Park Golf Course.

Maize High School senior Kinslea Jones, who fired a state-record 58 last week at the Buhler Invitational at the Hesston golf course, won the Hutchinson title with a 5-under-par score of 66.

Buhler’s top golfer at the Hutchinson Invitational was Anika Paulsrud, who placed 18th with an 83. Addison Specht tied for 28th at 90, Macy Miller and Paityn Weber tied for 31st at 91, Harlie Terrell tied for 44th at 98 and Juliette Shank tied for 78th at 110.

Hutchinson’s top golfer at its home tournament was Ava Burlie, who tied for 19th with an 85. Lily Rodriguez tied for 40th at 96, Brynn Hall tied for 51st at 101 and Lydia Patterson tied for 71st at 108.

Manhattan won the team title with a 297 score, followed by Maize 331, McPherson 349, Andover 350, Garden City 354, Buhler 355, Wellington 359, Goddard-Eisenhower 383, Hutchinson 390 and Maize South 390.

Great Bend placed 11th with a 391 score, followed by Hays 397, Newton 403, Salina South 410, Campus 439, Derby 443, Topeka High 457, Valley Center 470 and Wichita Collegiate 489.

Salthawk varsity boys soccer shuts out Arkansas City 1-0

One goal was all the Hutchinson High School varsity soccer team needed to defeat Arkansas City Thursday night at the Salthawk Soccer Complex.

The Satlhawks defeated the Bulldogs 1-0. The score was tied 0-0 at halftime.

The Hutchinson Salthawk junior varsity boys soccer team defeated Arkansas City 3-1.

Hutchinson freshman volleyball team 1-2 at Salina South Quad

The Hutchinson High School freshman volleyball team posted a 1-2 record Thursday at the Salina South Freshman Quad.

Maize South defeated Hutchinson 25-16, 25-10, Hutchinson defeated Salina South 25-23, 25-17 and Maize defeated Hutchinson 25-16, 25-19.

Pretty Prairie golfer Lyndsey Hoyt first at Medicine Lodge JV tourney

Pretty Prairie High School sophomore golfer Lyndsey Hoyt captured first-place medalist honors Thursday at the Medicine Lodge Junior Varsity Last Chance Tournament.

Hoyt fired a nine-hole score of 56 on the on par-70 Medicine Lodge Golf Course.

Hoyt edged out Pratt sophomore Kennedie Haskett by one stroke for the tournament title.

Pratt won the team title with a 255 score. Medicine Lodge placed second with a 268.
