Buhler USD 313 is hosting three open houses throughout the school district Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The open houses will feature the district’s two new childcare facilities, Crusader Corner and Buhler Beginnings.
“YOU are invited to an Open House event tomorrow night from 6:00-7:30 PM for our new facilities–Ad Astra Academies, Crusader Corner, and Buhler Beginnings!” the district’s Facebook page read. “All three are in FULL swing and we are excited to share these spaces with YOU!”
The district opened Ad Astra Academies, a remote and hybrid learning center, August 17.
The facility will be host to three different education curriculums offered by USD 313, including a virtual school, an alternative learning center and an adult education program.
Superintendent Cindy Couchman said the virtual school began one year after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and has continued ever since. Couchman said the virtual school was originally organized to meet student needs during the pandemic but has grown to serve students of all types.
Crusader Corner, located on the southeast corner at 56th Avenue and Plum Street in Hutchinson, and Buhler Beginnings, located at 808 North Main Street in Buhler, will also be open for visitors.
The two facilities will be able to support 85 children from birth to five years old combined and have been in the works since 2015.
